About Rezel Kealoha

Contributor

Rezel Kealoha is a Filipino-American food photographer, stylist, and recipe developer based in the Bay Area of San Francisco. Born in Hawaii to Filipino parents, she has lived across the Philippines, Japan, Australia, and Singapore — a life that shaped both her palate and her perspective on food.

Rezel runs the recipe blog rezelkealoha.com, where she focuses on Filipino recipes reimagined — honoring the flavors and traditions of the cuisine while finding fresh, modern ways to bring them to the table. Her approach is rooted in the Filipino pantry: ube, coconut milk, calamansi, glutinous rice, and the ingredients that have always been the backbone of Filipino home cooking.

She loves finding the balance between deeply traditional dishes and her own reimagined versions — recipes that feel familiar but bring something new to the table. Her remixes of Filipino classics have earned a loyal following among the Filipino diaspora and beyond.

Rezel has worked with some of the most respected food brands in the industry, with her writing appearing in Taste and Epicurious. She also contributed as both author and photographer to the We Cook Filipino cookbook. Whether she's developing a recipe, styling a shoot, or writing about food, she brings the same warmth, precision, and genuine love of Filipino flavors to everything she makes.
